Lauren practises exclusively in criminal law.

She began her career in London at one of the United Kingdom’s leading criminal law firms, where she gained experience in serious, complex, and high-profile criminal matters. After returning to Australia, Lauren practised at a first-tier criminal law firm in Adelaide before continuing her career in private practice in Melbourne.

Lauren has worked alongside highly regarded counsel on a broad range of criminal matters, including large-scale drug trafficking matters, firearm offences and dishonesty offences, serious violence, and murder.

Lauren appears regularly in courts across Melbourne and regional Victoria. She is known for her meticulous preparation, clear and practical advice, professional warmth, and her determination to achieve the best possible outcome for every client.

Lauren represents respondents in intervention order proceedings. She understands that these matters are often urgent, emotional, and deeply personal, and approaches each case with care, discretion, and the same rigour she brings to her broader criminal law practice.

Lauren also appears interstate, most frequently in Adelaide, Sydney, Queensland and Tasmania. Lauren Tye legal whilst based in Victoria has an international reach.

Since joining Lauren Tye Legal in 2024, Laila has appeared in courts all across Victoria and assisted clients in a range of criminal law matters. She brings a diligent and considered approach to her work, with a heavy focus on understanding each client’s circumstances, analysing the issues in dispute, and preparing for matters with the utmost care.

Laila has a strong passion for social justice and a genuine commitment to advocating for vulnerable members of the community given her experience as a legal officer for a not-for-profit humanitarian organization prior to becoming a solicitor.
